My Philosophy

Has anyone ever told you to stop caring about what other people think about you? Although most people I know have heard this advice at some point in their lives, very few are truly able to put this into practice. Why do so many of us struggle to let go of our need to please others and avoid rejection?

People are born with an innate desire to belong and to seek acceptance. Through our life experiences, however, many of us come to believe that certain parts of ourselves are unacceptable and will cause others to reject us. In an effort to avoid potential rejection, we learn strategies to conceal these supposedly unacceptable parts, putting forth an incomplete and/or fragmented version of ourselves to others. While these strategies might be advantageous to us in certain contexts, it is difficult to comfortably form fulfilling, intimate connections when we are not being our whole selves. This is where I come in.

Above all else, my job as a therapist is to create a safe, validating, and inclusive space in which you can be your full, authentic self. My commitment is to see, hear, and understand each and every part of you, especially those parts that you are afraid to show others. My promise is to accept you unconditionally.

My Practice

I am a licensed clinical psychologist based in Chicago, Illinois. I am licensed in both Illinois and Texas and as a PsyPact provider, I am able to provide psychological services virtually to clients in 42 states. I provide consultation, clinical training, and supervision both virtually and in person within the Chicago area.

I provide individual psychotherapy to adult clients. All psychotherapy sessions are conducted virtually via a secure and HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I also conduct evaluations and provide referral letters for gender-affirming healthcare, name changes, and gender marker changes.

I have a generalist background and am qualified to support clients with a wide variety of concerns. Although I have extensive training in multiple, evidence-based, therapeutic approaches, my work is collaborative and tailored to the unique and diverse needs of each individual client.
