Referral Letters for Gender Affirming Care
Transgender individuals seeking gender affirming care often encounter several barriers, one of which is a requirement to obtain a referral letter (sometimes called a letter of support) from a licensed psychologist. As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a staunch ally of the transgender community, I am happy to offer evaluations and referral letters for gender affirming care, as well as name and gender marker changes.
Rather than acting as a gatekeeper for gender affirming care, my goal is to be a facilitator and to make this particular step of the process as simple and straightforward as possible. Clients seeking a referral letter for gender-affirming care will be scheduled for a one-hour diagnostic evaluation for gender dysphoria, and the letter will be made available to download from my client portal within 3 business days.
In order to increase accessibility, I use a “pay-what-you-can” model for gender affirming care evaluations, with a fee range of $50-$200. I will ask you to tell me what amount within that range you are able to afford, and that will be a one-time fee that covers the evaluation, any necessary follow-up appointments, the letter, and coordination with your healthcare providers and/or insurance company.
